The Wolf

Faux fur, EVA foam
The wolf was made as a collaboration with a friend. The purpose of this head was to be worn while also playing the french horn. The eyes are mesh-free for maximum visibility, and there is no jaw for the wearer to access their french horn.

Prokofiev wrote the music for Peter and the Wolf in 1936. It was written as a child’s introduction to the orchestra and was first performed at a children’s theatre in Moscow. Each character in the story is represented by a musical theme played by an instrument or group of instruments to evoke the character. The Wolf’s theme is represented by three french horns, creating very menacing and layered tones.
